Twaddler transition

At Paige's daycare the next room up with the 2-3 year olds is called the Twaddler room. Even though she has a little over a month until she turns 2, daycare is anxious for her to move up. At first I wasn't crazy about the idea of her being the youngest kid in the classroom again, but it's starting to grow on me. She's gone in there twice already. Today she was there for about 2 hours and the teachers said she did great. They have the room divided, so most of the time it's only 2-2.5 yrs on one side and 2.5-3 yrs on the other side. But in the mornings and later in the day when there are less kids they combine all the kids onto one side. In her current toddler room, she's the oldest and most of the children don't talk much. But in twaddlers, a lot of them are pretty good speakers and she picks it up pretty quickly. It could just be my imagination, but even after 2 hours today, when I picked her up she seemed to be using her words a lot better. I think being with the older kids will only help her learn and advance quicker.

Paige loves her sunglasses. She wore them when we were leaving daycare and then still had them on in the car. Of course about 5 minutes later she had them off and was playing with them. Finally I took them from her and told her she could have them back when we get home. Usually this brings on a tantrum when you take anything away from her. But I just kept telling her she'd get them when we got home. It was finally starting to sink in and she would repeat "glasses home, glasses home, glasses home" over and over again for most of the ride home. Here's a picture of her in her glasses when we finally got home.
