I adopted a crayfish from the BIO 111 labs last week. He was purchased for experiments evaluating the relationship between temperature and activity levels in an ectotherm. They didn't have a clear plan for him after he was done (freezer bait?), so I went ahead and bought a cheap 1.5 gallon aquarium and brought him into my office. Here are pictures:

I'm sorry but Crabby doesn't even come close to comparing to Fishy!!!
I think he's adorable. :-)Reminds me of the 2 crawdads you (Justin) found out in the front ditch when you were little-- and placed in our aquarium with the goldfish and guppies....yep... pretty soon no more guppies and one ragged tailed goldfish. You decided to release those 2 back into the wild and get some new fan tail guppies!!!

I think he's great!! Remember when we went to Maine when we were kids and I wouldn't eat lobster because we had to pick them out before they got thrown into the pot??? Even now, every time I'm in the grocery store by the lobster tank I long to free them:) I applaud your efforts!! :)
