Day 1 Recap

It was a long first day, but all in all I think it went well.

Paige's scorecard looks remarkably good right now--only one accident, and that occurred very early on. The reason is that she essentially sat on her potty for the entire day. She was really unhappy about her accident, as much as we tried to downplay and minimize it. We ended up spending a fair bit of the day trying to tempt her off of the potty. Baking brownies, outside time, helping with the laundry, etc. She refused it all. When she moved, she literally held the potty behind her, as if it was a big diaper!

The good news is that she went potty six times today, including a poop. It had been months since she even had a good pee in the potty, so this should help her build some confidence that she can do it. Tomorrow we'll try to get her off the potty. She and I talked tonight about looking for some ants outside tomorrow (we read a book with some ants in it), so I'm hopeful that she'll come outside with me to try that, at least. We also have been talking about practicing some of her gymnastics stuff (running, jumping, stretching, that sort of thing). We'll see!

I had my Jennifer trained in a week before we were to go to Arizona.....I used cloth diaper service so I had to get her trained before we left....she was 2.....then at night, just used paper diapers....she hated them so much that she didn't go in them at naps or night......I basically kinda did like you guys.....kept her drinking and peeing....Hugs to Paige!! :-)
