Several steps forward, and maybe one small step back.
Paige had a great morning--lots of time away from the potty, and most trips to the potty were short...whether or not they were successful. The biggest excitement came around lunchtime, when Paige, while playing by herself, jumped up and said "I think I have to go Potty!" She ran to the bathroom, sat down, and almost immediately went pee! We were so excited for her.
This afternoon, we put on the pants as planned. It took a while, but Paige eventually did have a full-blown accident. I think the pants might still have felt a bit too reassuring after a weekend bare-bottomed. But it seemed like a good lesson. She clearly wasn't happy about it, but I think we were reassuring enough that she was able to venture out again fairly soon afterwards. I'm glad she had this accident with us, so if (when) one happens tomorrow at school it won't be so traumatic.
Assuming we get her to go to bed tonight (as I began writing this she woke up and demanded access to her potty, and is now semi-tantruming while sitting on it), I think this weekend has been as successful as I could have hoped. She's had a lot of successes, a few failures, and I think we're ready to send her off into the world. We're going to send two extra outfits tomorrow (all shirt + baggy pants, no undies for now) in anticipation of more accidents, and fortunately since we're both at home we won't have trouble bringing in another outfit if there is need.

Tell Paige Nama and Pop are rooting for her! and we love the new look of the blog--really cute :-)
Boy, I love the new look with both girls on here!! How pretty!!:-)
Awww.....you are awesome! I bet she does great tomorrow! I will think of her when I am at work! I have to ask how come no undies? Back in the day, (hehe) all our friends would get the prettiest undies when they were training as the kids DIDN'T want to mess them, and tried hard not to.....Just send extra undies, too......I love all this kiddie stuff.....My niece just let us all know she is having a second baby...Yipppeee....Her little girl is just 20 months now....She too has her blog....I love all this baby stuff....:-)
Hugs to Miss Paige and to the baby!! I think she is doing great!!
We think the undies feel a bit too much like a diaper. She had a few accidents in undies when Mom was visiting, and she barely noticed when they happened. We've seen a lot around the web indicating the same problem. So for now, commando is the way to go for us.
She has a full complement of Princess underwear, though, once she's mastered commando-mode. ;)

Glad to hear that the weekend went well!
Can't wait to see you guys!!!
Thanks Justin!! LOL.....What do I know....LOL
yeah ELlie is just now doing okay in undies!! it's so bizarre how that is.. you'd think the paper/scratchy pullups/dipes would feel different! :)
what are you doing about night time? Is she staying dry? I have yet to venture into that. thought I'd ask what you're doing :)
Thanks Lindsay for the info on Ellie--we may still try undies this weekend, but then again, the grandparents and cousins are coming out to visit this weekend. Might be better to wait, as she's doing so great right now.
At night, we're doing pull-ups. She's been wet twice, dry twice, I think. She often was not wetting her diaper overnight, so she might be ready for that sooner rather than later. We're not in a hurry for nighttime, though.
Alrighty.. we're doing the same. I figure, it has to be more of a biological thing to be dry overnight than trained right? We just sort of waited with Val until she was very consistently dry over night and then cut out the pullups. It doesn't seem to confuse her since she's not 'awake' as long as I switch her to undies asap in the morning!
Paige doesn't seem to mind taking off her training pants. I think we've made enough of a point to her that they're not diapers and she's not supposed to go in them that she doesn't mind.
Yesterday, Paige had a poop-accident at daycare. They're requesting that we put her in underpants, so we're going to try it today. If she has an accident or two, we'll probably go back to commando for the weekend.
