Dear Paige,
Happy 6th Birthday! I’m trying not to think how
you’re now 1/3 of the way to 18 years old. You have matured so much in the last
year.
You are so incredibly smart. Your teachers say you’re at the
top of your class. I love listening to you read and am amazed at the level of
difficult words you can pronounce with ease. It’s not just pronouncing words,
but you actually understand words and have an incredible vocabulary. There have
been so many times that you’ve rattled off a fact about gravity, or the
planets, or dinosaurs that I did a double take that a 5 year old would be
saying these things!
I’m going to start a petition that hula hooping becomes an
Olympic sport. You will easily set records. When Grandma told you that you were
good at Hula Hooping, you corrected her that if you were just good, you
would’ve stopped by then. You are very talented. You also love playing outside
at any opportunity you get. It’s great that you’ve become so independent
playing this year.
The biggest milestone for you this year was losing your
first (and second) tooth in February. You were so excited. The first one you
really lost. You told us it just disappeared when you were eating and you
looked all over and couldn’t find it. We didn’t have the heart to tell you that
you probably swallowed it. The second tooth you lost in the dentist office
waiting room minutes before your cleaning. It was one less tooth the dentist
had to clean that day.
Brooke will forever be your best friend. She’s the first person you look for when you wake up. I love when I walk in the room to see the two of you cuddling on the couch. She learns so much from you and I think you enjoy being her big sis.
