Kindergarten Graduation

This is Paige's entire Kindergarten class. Paige is 7th from the right in this picture:

They all lined up in a row together and then performed their first song (the Opposites) together. Here's the video:

The rest of the performances after that were with smaller groups of about 10 kids at a time.

The "Months of the Year" song. Paige was the month of May.

The Dinosaurs. Paige is the middle Apatasaurus. Her lines along with the other 2 were:
"Our name is Apatosaurus
We are big and slow.
We have a long neck and tail.
Leaves and plants are our favorite food"

The agents of change song. The kids each picked what they wanted to be when they grew up and dressed as that. Paige is a waitress:

This is the end after they've received their diplomas and they're waiting for the rest of the names to be called. The kids are getting a little antsy. Paige is using her diploma as a telescope:

Happy Birthday Brooke!

Dear Brooke,

Happy 3rd Birthday! And thank you so much for not going through the “Terrible Twos” stage! You’re such a caring, sweet little child. If a friend or your sister is crying or upset, you want to go over and help them. You take care of your baby dolls/stuffed animals and usually have one of them with you at all times. You also love animals, especially dogs. And you’re very sweet to your kitty, Ella.
When you turned 2 I was concerned about your speech and limited vocabulary. You have improved so much over this past year and now it’s hard to get you to stop that little chatterbox of yours! You have memorized a few entire books word for word. You know the words to just about every song that we’ve ever sung to you…and then some. You love it when we read to you every night and I bet you’ll be an early reader just like your big sister.
When you make up your mind to do something, there’s no stopping you. You potty trained this year when you were ready. We just followed your lead!

You are very patient when you attend activities with big sister and can’t wait until you can start taking dance lessons and join girl scouts too. You’re going to love being 3!

Happy Birthday Paige!

Dear Paige,

Happy 6th Birthday! I’m trying not to think how you’re now 1/3 of the way to 18 years old. You have matured so much in the last year.

You are so incredibly smart. Your teachers say you’re at the top of your class. I love listening to you read and am amazed at the level of difficult words you can pronounce with ease. It’s not just pronouncing words, but you actually understand words and have an incredible vocabulary. There have been so many times that you’ve rattled off a fact about gravity, or the planets, or dinosaurs that I did a double take that a 5 year old would be saying these things!
I’m going to start a petition that hula hooping becomes an Olympic sport. You will easily set records. When Grandma told you that you were good at Hula Hooping, you corrected her that if you were just good, you would’ve stopped by then. You are very talented. You also love playing outside at any opportunity you get. It’s great that you’ve become so independent playing this year.

The biggest milestone for you this year was losing your first (and second) tooth in February. You were so excited. The first one you really lost. You told us it just disappeared when you were eating and you looked all over and couldn’t find it. We didn’t have the heart to tell you that you probably swallowed it. The second tooth you lost in the dentist office waiting room minutes before your cleaning. It was one less tooth the dentist had to clean that day.

Brooke will forever be your best friend. She’s the first person you look for when you wake up. I love when I walk in the room to see the two of you cuddling on the couch. She learns so much from you and I think you enjoy being her big sis.

In a previous post I mentioned that we had pictures done back in April. The pictures turned out amazing, it was so hard to pick just our favorites. Here are a few more of the prints we bought:

Brooke's room

Out of the 5 rooms I've removed wallpaper in so far, Brooke's room was definitely the most challenging! I can't even remember when I first started working in there. I'm guessing at least 2 months ago.

The first picture was about halfway through. The next picture are the finished colors. Purple and Grey.

Pictures!

Just before Easter, we went to a local park and had a professional photographer take some pictures of the family and just the girls. Here's the one the photographer posted on facebook as our sneak peek. I can't wait to see the rest!
